Meet Dr. Sarpotdar
- A Brilliant Background: Known affectionately as “Dr. Sarpo” by his patients, Dr. Sarpotdar has been practicing as an orthodontic specialist since 2013. His educational journey began at Brigham Young University and continued at the UCLA School of Dentistry. He completed his master’s in Orthodontics at Columbia University, where he served as Chief Resident—and where he also met his future wife and practice partner, Dr. Sun.
- In 2015, Dr. Sarpotdar opened the first Icon Orthodontics location in Surprise, AZ. Since then, he’s grown the practice with a passion for innovation, community, and leadership.
- An Industry Leader: Dr. Sarpotdar is widely recognized in the orthodontic community. He founded the Orthodontic Pearls Facebook group, the largest online study group of its kind, and he hosts the highly regarded Mother of Pearls Conference each year. He also contributes to the profession as:

- Dr. Sarpotdar Outside the Office: When he’s not in the office creating incredible smiles, Dr. Sarpotdar enjoys traveling, reading, snowboarding, and watching science fiction movies. He believes in living by the principles of integrity, teamwork, excellence, and delight. He also practices what he calls “constant improvement,” always striving to be just a little better every day. Dr. Sarpotdar and Dr. Sun welcomed their daughter, Chloe, in September 2022. Becoming a father has brought a new layer of joy and inspiration to his life.
Meet Dr. Sun
- Our Arizona Native: Dr. Jenny Sun is an Arizona native who began her academic journey as a top-of-the-class graduate from Arizona State University with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry. Her dedication to science and healthcare led her to Columbia University’s College of Dental Medicine, where she earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2013.

- Inspired to specialize in orthodontics, Dr. Sun completed her Certificate in Orthodontics at Tufts University in Boston. She returned to Arizona in 2015, ready to bring her expertise and compassionate care to the community she calls home.
- Passionate About People: Dr. Sun is bilingual in English and Chinese, which allows her to serve a broader and more diverse community. She is a KOIS-trained orthodontist, meaning she is trained in advanced techniques and committed to delivering both top-tier clinical outcomes and excellent patient experiences. You’ll find her practicing at our two offices with the same singular energy and enthusiasm every day. Dr. Sun believes that orthodontic care should empower patients, helping them feel confident, comfortable, and truly seen.
- Dr. Sun Outside the Office: When she’s not crafting new smiles, Dr. Sun loves drawing, hiking, snorkeling, and traveling. Her favorite moments, though, are spent with her husband, Dr. Sarpotdar, and their little daughter. Becoming a mom has given her a new perspective on working with kids and families, driving her to build lasting change in her patients’ lives.
