Meet Dr. Sarpotdar
Dr. Andrew Sarpotdar (or "Dr. Sarpo" as he's come to be called) began his journey toward orthodontics at a young age.
Gifted with an aesthetic eye and an analytical mind, he has gravitated toward a career first in dentistry followed by an additional three-year residency and certification process to become one of an elite group of board-certified orthodontic specialists.
Dr. Sarpo has fulfilled a lifelong dream by operating Icon Orthodontics with his wife, business partner, and fellow orthodontist, Dr. Jenny Sun.
Meet Dr. Sun
Dr. Jenny Sun's passion for orthodontics stems from personal experience. Growing up, she was always embarrassed about her front teeth and never liked smiling for photos. To this day, she still remembers the magical feeling when her braces came off. Her teeth never looked better and she could not stop smiling. Her orthodontist changed her life.
Dr. Sun hopes to be that positive influence in the lives of her patients because she truly recognizes the power of a beautiful smile. She practices orthodontics with this understanding in mind and goes above and beyond to ensure total patient satisfaction.
Surprise Invisalign
Invisalign is incredibly popular with both patients and orthodontists and is the top alternative to traditional braces. Instead of brackets and bands, Surprise Invisalign system uses a series of clear, removable aligners to gradually straighten your teeth.
Invisalign aligners are made of a comfortable plastic material and customized to fit snugly over your teeth. In order to keep your teeth moving in the direction you want them to, you'll generally need to switch your invisible trays out every 1-2 weeks for the next in the series. The Invisalign system can only work if the recommended guidelines are followed exactly! Aligners should be worn 20-22 hours per day throughout treatment. If patients neglect to wear the aligners as directed, it can impede the results and also add time to the orthodontic process.
Invisalign is at its most efficient when correcting many of the most common orthodontic issues. For some complex cases, Invisalign may not be a good option. A free consultation with Icon Orthodontics will allow us to determine your Invisalign eligibility.
Surprise Braces
Traditional braces are one of the most efficient orthodontic tools we have. They're made out of metal or ceramic brackets that are attached to the teeth, then connected by wires and tiny rubber bands or elastics. These brackets, wires, and bands work together to apply the gentle pressure that will gradually move the teeth into the positions we want them to be in if you have regular adjustments with our doctors.
Surprise braces are an excellent choice for correcting complex tooth issues. Because they can sometimes work faster at aligning teeth and closing gaps than other treatments might, overall treatment time may be slightly reduced. Braces don't need some of the more complex technology or expensive equipment that newer treatments can, making Surprise braces a cost-effective orthodontic option.
